We can’t quite believe that it’s already been a year since we bought our Exeter based office space The Mount and what a year it’s been. In order to celebrate it’s one year anniversary we wanted to take a trip down memory lane and reflect on the past year since we first bought The Mount through to today.
From the get go we had a vision of what we wanted to achieve with the building and there was no hanging around for work to begin. With its 16,000 square ft of space and 6 floors to play with, we knew we could create something that local businesses and startups would want to come and work in.
Various areas of The Mount got a complete redesign, but nothing more so than the basement area which we transformed into our exclusive members area ‘The Rabbit Hole’ but more on that later.
The renovation stage seemed to take forever and a day to complete but we wanted to make sure that everything was perfect. Creating 11 offices of different sizes to help cater for businesses of all stages of life, so it doesn't matter if you are just a single person and a laptop all the way through to a growing established team we made sure The Mount was able to cater for everyone’s business needs.
One of the biggest challenges we faced while renovating The Mount was creating a cool and quirky coworking space, and what’s more quirky than having one in the basement. One of the main reasons behind creating The Rabbit Hole was to provide people of the surrounding area of Exeter with a workspace to grow, collaborate, thrive and ultimately achieve their business goals.
We built up The Rabbit Hole from scratch starting with the layout right through the to the furnishing and even what beer we served. Creating a coworking area which allowed people to work with others without the need to purchase a dedicated office was important to us to implement as we knew just how fast coworking spaces were growing and we certainly wanted to be part of that action.
The Rabbit Hole officially opened up in May of this year and we are beyond happy and proud of how not only the coworking area turned out but with The Mount itself. A lot of hard work and dedication went into it and we are beyond excited to see what another year will bring!
